I am thrilled to announce one of my favorite events at Andover School of Montessori, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, coming up on November 22. This is a special day when grandparents and special friends are welcomed into our classrooms to see our students at work, experiencing firsthand the joy and pride our children feel in sharing their learning with loved ones. It is a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate their accomplishments, whether by proudly completing a math project or writing assignment, demonstrating a pouring activity, or carefully constructing the Pink Tower. They get to share these memorable moments with the people who mean so much to them.
During this event, our special guests have the chance to sit alongside their special person, ask questions, and gain a closer look at their daily activities and achievements in the classroom. For our students, there is no greater joy than sharing their hard work with those they love and respect. It’s an honor to welcome such treasured members of their lives into the ASM community, recognizing the incredible role they play in shaping and supporting our young learners. The love and wisdom of grandparents and special friends nurtures our students, helping them grow into compassionate, curious, and confident individuals.
As the saying goes, “It takes a village,” and I am grateful to have such a supportive community here at ASM. Grandparents and special friends play an invaluable role in the lives of our children, aligning beautifully with our Montessori principles, which emphasize the importance of community, respect, and intergenerational connection. This day brings to life the Montessori vision of whole-child education, where children learn not only from their teachers but also from the guidance, wisdom, and warmth of those closest to them. I value these relationships and am grateful for the connection we share in supporting our students’ growth and development.
