What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about education and the chance to work with children in hopes for a better tomorrow. I hope to help my students to see the world for what it truly is and help them to go out into it and make a difference. It is an honor to be able to help future generations learn to be empathetic and kind advocates for positive change in the world.

What do you like about ASM?

ASM has a sense of community which I have not truly felt at any other school. Joining this school was immediately a comfortable experience as students, parents, and staff all opened up their hearts and classrooms to me and made me feel a part of something. I have truly grown a lot as part of this community and the opportunities it has given me and I will be forever grateful to this school for that.

Why did you choose to teach at a Montessori school?

I chose to teach in a Montessori school because I wanted to experience another way of teaching and learning. My entire educational experience was through the traditional methods used in public schools before coming to ASM and I wanted to find out more about the Montessori method. As a life long learner, I am always open to learning new things especially when it comes to teaching. I was immediately enamored with the multi-age classroom, the different materials, and the three year cycle of Lower Elementary.

Fun Fact about yourself:

I love crafting, especially needle work such as cross stitching and embroidery. I like to try out any new crafts that I can which is why I adore the Practical Life aspect of Montessori. It is wonderful to be able to add a crafting element to the classroom which can be used to relate to the different subjects that we are learning about. Crafting promotes creativity, mindfulness, and organization and I have grown to love it all the more over the past few years.
