What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about gardening, sustainability, and the environment

What do you like about ASM?

I like that ASM is a small close-knit community where students thrive and feel comfortable to be themselves. I like having the space to work so closely with students (small teacher:student ratio) to help them reach their fullest potential. I like that there are acres of trails and woods behind the school where I can take my students to learn as well as space for the school garden.

Why did you choose to teach at a Montessori school?

I chose to teach at a Montessori school because it more aligns with my philosophy of teaching. It allows for more project based learning, inquiry, hands-on activities and room for innovation. This allows the future generations to gain the critical thinking skills they need to be successful members of society. Another reason is because of the multi-aged groups. I like how the older kids can practice being leaders and role-models for the younger students.

Fun Fact about yourself:

I have gone skydiving twice, once in Australia while studying abroad.

Do you have a resolution for the new year?

My resolution for the new year is to make time for more ‘self-care’ activities like working out, reading, getting massages, etc.
