At Andover School of Montessori, we recognize that every family has its own vision for their child’s educational journey, and we respect and support the path each family chooses. For families interested in exploring independent secondary schools, we provide guidance throughout the application process, helping students find a school that aligns with their academic interests, personal strengths, and future goals.
Throughout the year, we organize information sessions with admissions representatives from a variety of independent secondary schools, giving students opportunities to learn about academic programs, extracurricular activities, school culture, and the admissions process.
We work closely with students and families to explore school options, organize application requirements and deadlines, prepare for interviews, and review application materials. We also provide thoughtful teacher and school recommendations that highlight each student’s academic achievements, character, and contributions to our community.
Our connections with ASM alumni provide valuable opportunities for students to hear firsthand about the transition to secondary school, learn about different school experiences, and gain insight into how their Montessori education has prepared graduates for success.
Our preparation extends well beyond the application process. Throughout their years at ASM, students develop independence, self-advocacy, critical thinking, time-management skills, and personal responsibility. These skills help students confidently navigate the academic and social expectations of secondary school, whether they attend an independent or public school.
Above all, our goal is not simply to help students gain admission to a secondary school, but to prepare them to thrive academically, socially, and personally in the next chapter of their education.
