The ASM community came together today to joyfully celebrate United Nations Day, a highlight of our students’ exploration of global cultures and a reflection of Maria Montessori’s vision of peace through understanding and connection.

In the Children’s House, families shared presentations about their cultural heritage, bringing in photos, stories, traditional clothing, songs, and dances. Each presentation gave students a chance to learn about the many backgrounds represented in their classroom and to celebrate the uniqueness of their community.

Lower Elementary students showcased their research on countries around the world through creative projects, a Cultural Luncheon, and a Cultural Scavenger Hunt. Dressed in traditional or cultural attire, they proudly shared their learning and deepened their appreciation for global traditions and perspectives.

Upper Elementary and Middle School students connected their studies of Fundamental Human Needs and global cooperation to the United Nations’ mission of unity and peace. Together, they hosted a Cultural Potluck and Learning Exchange, including student displays, shared discussions, and a creative reflection activity celebrating what it means to be part of one global community.

Across every level, ASM students and families came together to honor the beauty of cultural diversity and the power of learning as a bridge to global understanding, embodying Montessori’s belief that peace begins with education.
