An Independent Day School in Andover, Massachusetts

Andover School of Montessori is an accredited, private school located 2 miles south of Phillips Academy on Route 28 in Andover, MA. We serve students in preschool, elementary school, and middle school. At ASM, we value collaboration, creativity, curiosity, diversity, and integrity while providing a caring, engaging and respectful environment. We strive for excellence and are committed to preparing the next generation of leaders for our ever-changing world.

Andover School of Montessori believes in the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. We recognize that racism and privilege exist in our world, and commit ourselves to break down what barriers we can.

We strive to cultivate a community where every person feels appreciated and understood. People of every gender, sexual-orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, and socio-economic status are welcome at ASM. Through our peace curriculum, students discover how to engage in empathetic conversations, challenge prejudice in their daily lives, and embrace cultural differences. We know that we are all continually students of society, and that our work in these areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice will need to be as dynamic as the world; therefore, we dedicate ourselves to continuing to foster such an approach.

The Montessori Pedagogy

“The future of education was invented in 1906” according to Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry (Forbes Magazine, Jan. 22, 2014), the year that Maria Montessori opened her first classroom. He states that her pedagogy was “revolutionary”, and for the time, it was. It still is today! Click here to learn more about the Montessori pedagogy and materials.
