2022 Annual Meeting of the Members
Posted by Holly Hirst on May 11, 2022
On Tuesday evening, May 10, we held the 2022 Annual Meeting of Members. We were pleased to see several new and current ASM parents, the Board of Directors, and three founding and early families in attendance.
Our Board President, Esin Seref-Dibirdi, was our emcee for the evening. The meeting began with the recognition and celebration of Mrs. Anna Kritselis’ fifteen years of dedicated service to ASM as our IT Director. Anna is known for her meticulous research skills, dedication to security, and tenacious negotiation skills. We thank her for all she continues to do on ASM’s behalf.
We recognized the hard work of our 2021-2022 volunteers on the Board of Directors, Health and Safety Task Force, and PACE, and we were introduced to two new Board members who will start their tenure in July. I also shared the state of the school and an overview of our vision going forward.
We were thrilled that ASM’s founders, Mary and Bill Peck, and Drs. Ken and Egle Pedini virtually joined us for the meeting. Mary and Bill introduced the ASM Founders’ Fund for Teaching Excellence, an endowment they created to:
- Recruit and retain exceptional teachers and teacher leaders,
- Provide quality Montessori certification training,
- Supplement teacher salaries and benefits,
- Recognize outstanding teaching performance, and
- Fund materials and/or expenses for one-time teaching projects.
Last, but certainly not least, Drs. Ken and Egle Pedini introduced and announced this year’s Founders’ Day Award recipient, Mrs. Patricia Stokes! Pat has been at ASM for 20 years and is known for her innovative curriculum initiatives; demonstrated patience and personal touch; and her embodiment of ASM’s core values. Congratulations, Mrs. Stokes!
